……………….bread winners………………… because, in our opinion, the world actually does need one more photography workshop

* * * u p d a t e : s o l d o u t ! ! ! ! * * *
thank you, thank you, thank you to the incredible couples joining us in february! we cannot wait!
to the other couples interested, there will be another bread winners soon, so keep your eyes and ears open!

for the past couple of years, we have been dreaming up what it might look like to host a workshop for couples who are in this business with us, on a similar journey. we love sharing with the amazing people at each Don’t Give Up project, but we also long for an additional experience, one that hits “closer to home”. we have been excited to have a workshop where we can share the things closer to our heart in the areas of finding inspiration as a couple, balancing business, busy-ness, and at-home life as a couple, and growing in our artistic rhythm as a couple – where we can talk with other couples about what it is like to be bread winners as photographers. because of that, we are so excited to share with you…

some questions you may have…

what’s the difference between bread winners and the DGU project?

the Don’t Give Up project is:
for any pro photographer
a larger retreat experience-focused workshop
based in Colorado at a lodge in the mountains
we photograph models to give an example of our approach in a large group
time with each attendee is limited, due to the “large family” nature of the 20-ish person sized group
each person walks away as a member of the Don’t Give Up movement, poster and purpose in hand

bread winners is:
a chapter of the don’t give up project, in a smaller and more personalized version
for couples only, who are doing this photography business thing together (limited to 4 couples)
a small, intimate intensive workshop focused on growing as artists, couples, and bread winners
we look forward to sharing stories, photographs, eating good meals around our dining room table, and growing in inspiration
based in our home town and held in our humble abode, nightly accommodations are in a charming neighborhood home
each couple is photographed by us, and given a close look into our approach behind and in front of the camera
more personalized attention is given in areas of business philosophy and united artistic vision to each of the 4 couples
each couple walks away as a member of the Don’t Give Up movement, poster and purpose in hand

what is the cost?

the cost of attending bread winners is:
$1600 per couple
includes lodging, transportation in town, all meals

what are the dates?

bread winners will be held February 6 – 8, 2012
couples should arrive around noon on Monday, and depart late afternoon/early evening on Wednesday.

how long is registration open?

bread winners is intentionally a very small workshop. we desire to give adequate time and attention to all 4 couples in our home, so registration will be first come, first serve!

how do we sign up?

send us an email at:
with the subject line: “we are bread winners”
and tell us about the two of you, and why you hope to attend.

we will contact you asap with a link to register. :)
remember, first come, first serve.

we really are looking forward to meeting and spending time with 4 new couple friends!
it’s going to be such a joy to share a little bit of life with you, and have you in our humble abode!

Love this!! It sounds exactly like what we need and would grow from. We would love to attend this one but can’t afford the time and money to make it from Aust. for Feb. If you host a future one, we will definitely be keen to book. All the best

c&j - 12/05/2011 - 3:26 pm

we would SO LOVE to do this but it’s not in the budget right now (paying hospital bills off)…please have another in the future and we’ll be there!! Sounds really fun!

My husband and I aren’t in business together (although I think that would be the coolest thing EVER!), but I just wanted to comment how cool I think this is, and if my husband ever quit his art teaching job & decided to join me in photography, i’d TOTALLY do this!

Jeff - 12/02/2011 - 11:20 am

YAY! This sounds amazing!
