someone recently asked me why we don’t give long, detailed accounts of the weddings that we shoot on our blog. I guess, back when we first started our business, I used to pretend that I was a writer and tell an elaborate story in words of each wedding day, including annoying little commentaries on each individual photograph like “I really like this detail” or “I loved this image where the father of the bride met his daughter on her wedding day for the first time” (insert me puking in my mouth). It’s not that it’s lame when photographers write descriptions of stuff on their blogs. It’s just lame when their work is lacking something, and they have to make up for it in their writing. I know this because that’s what I was doing when we first started this journey. The images were weak, and couldn’t quite stand on their own. But now, we have grown and continue to grow. So, if I write one sentence or one word on a blog post, you will know it is because I am a photographer, not a writer. and I am much more gifted at the first.
In keeping with that valuable lesson, we bring you two clients we love - kylie and matt and their charming-out-of-an-anthropologie-storybook-wedding. We were thrilled and honored to be a part of it. :)
